A business session dedicated to the gaming industry called ”Who makes money on videogames today and who will make in the future” was held on June 16, 2022, at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
The session was attended by Viacheslav Makarov, producer and game designer, Alexey Goreslavskiy, general director of the Institute of internet development, Taras Kozyura, founder of the team “GIG CREW”, Igor Stolyarov, project manager of the Games of Future, Andrey Tolmachiov, CEO of the Corporation of the development of Kaliningrad region» and Artyom Chermin, VK Play director for strategic development (Video).
Andrey Tolmachiov gave his appraisal to the format of the Games of Future and said he wants Kaliningrad to host such competitions one day: ”I really like the idea of mixing up the virtual cyber thing with the real. It’s really cool! I can tell you as a user that I will gladly participate and I will tell everyone about this project. Tomorrow I will hear the announcement of the city-host, if it’s not Kaliningrad I will be upset, but then Kaliningrad will submit his bid for the year 2026 or 2028 to make sure we host this event. Why? We have lots of sites, we hosted quite a few championships, we were preparing for the volleyball event, we also hosted matched of the football Word Cup 2018. The territory is ready and so is our team”.
A reminder: the city-host of the technological Games of Future to be held in February 2024 will be announced on June 16, 2022, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

The Games of Future is an international tournament in 16 hybrid to be held in 2024. Each discipline combines the concept of “phygital” (physical+digital), i.e. unites classic sport and eSports or VR-/AR-technology and thus checks-out the fitness of the athletes and digital skills.
