The Federal territory Sirius may become the venue of the international sport event Games of Future in 2024. At present the project organizers hold the final stage of the bidding campaign. Sirius made it to the short-list of five pretenders. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Kaluga are also vying for the right to host the Games of Future.
The delegation visited the ice palace Iceberg, Sirius Arena, the small ice arena Shayba (“Puck”) and Delta Sirius to evaluate the potential to hold the inaugural hybrid competitions combine sport, science and education. The Games of Future are a digital technological tournament in 16 innovational sport disciplines, a double-event of new format where athletes are equally successful both in digital and classic disciplines. The list of demands a potential host city must meet indicates that for the sake of convenience of both the spectators and the athletes each site of the competitions must be adopted to both components of the hybrid discipline
”The inspection visits we conduct these days are meant to check out the readiness of respective cities to hold this unique innovational tournament and determine the capital of inaugural Games of Future. For this tournament has a DNA principle which we call “phygital” – a combination of cyberspace and physical activity. We are thankful to the top managers of Sirius – their bid is well prepared, we saw the arenas for holding the competitions in all disciplines of the tournament spot program”, – noted the head of the international sports project Games of Future Igor Stoliarov.

No doubt, we remember the emotions the Olymics-2014 offered to us, we would like to repeat this success on our arenas but this time in innovational sports disciplines which will unite classic sport, science and technology”, – said the head of Autonomous non-commercial organization ‘Sports cluster’ of the federal territory Sirius Evgeniy Meytes.
The bidding camping for the venue of the inaugural Games of Future in Russia was launched by vice-premier Dmitry Chernyshenko in November 2021. More than 40 regions expressed their desire to hold the tournament, of these 19 submitted to the organizers a package with bidding documents. A short-list of candidates was formed as a result of inspection visits. And the city-organizer of the inaugural Games of Future will be announced based on the results of inspection visits in June 2022.
